Community Sponsorships and Changes in Ganeshotsav

This year we have taken some proactive measures to fight inflation and minimize our monetary loss that we may incur for organizing the Ganeshotsav. In this regard, firstly we would like to clarify some of the expenses involved in Ganeshotsav and other Maharashtra Mandal events.

Unfortunately many people are under the incorrect notion that Santan Dharma Mandir does not charge us a penny for hosting Ganeshotsav. Sanatan Dharma Mandir charges us $2600 for hosting Ganeshotsav. We pay approximately $300 to $800 (based on requirements) for the Sound System. The buses for Visarjan costs us $800. Irrespective of the number of people attending Ganeshotsav, we still end up paying approximately $5000 in fixed costs.

The highest expense - food (mahaprasad) is not yet counted in the tally. It becomes very difficult to predict how many people will come. Consequently, every year, we end up serving you less food and/or end up throwing food at the end of the day.

To minimize monetary loss and to give community members a chance to help us in the auspicious occasion of Ganeshotsav, we are requesting members to sponsor various costs related to Ganeshotsav.
1)$251 - The sponsorer will perform the pooja. First come first served basis. (Only one sponsorship available)
2)$151- Mahaprasad (food) Sponsorship (multiple)
3)$101 - Visarjan Sponsorship (multiple)
4)$51 - Decoration Sponsorship (multiple)
5)$21 - Group Abhishek (Ekadashani) (multiple)

Besides this we have made following other changes:
1)For members - admission is free, but food can be guaranteed only if they RSVP. We will issue different color tickets to RSVPed people and will allow them to have lunch first.
2)For non members - $15 RSVP by paying only. Food is not guaranteed if not RSVPed. Online payment is available at http://mmla.org.

We have always received a very positive feedback from you and we hope that you will continue your support and faith in us. Your encouragement has been the single most important factor which has allowed us to take bold (but necessary) steps thereby implementing changes with changing times.
